Whether you're new to credit or trying to build on existing history, these steps can help you.
New to credit
If you don't have any active accounts on your credit report, your score might be -1 or 0 to 5 points. This is classed as having a thin or no credit file.
With 0 active accounts, it's also difficult for credit bureaus to verify or confirm your identity. So ClearsScore may not be able to show you a credit score and report either.
Get credit
To resolve this open an account and leave it active for as long as possible. Get a credit card that you can use for small amounts and pay back in full every month. This activity will help you build a credit history and score over time.
Credit Health
If the credit bureau has been unable to find a credit report for you, that’s okay. You can still use ClearScore by:
- Activating your report on How you look to lenders.
- Self-declaring your personal details.
- Verifying your email address and activating your Protect.
