Whether you're new to credit or trying to build up your credit history, these steps could help you.
New to credit
If you don't have any active accounts on your credit report, your score might show a ‘?’ on when you log in. This is classed as having a thin credit file, sometimes called no file.
With 0 active accounts, it's also difficult for credit bureaus to verify or confirm your identity. Because of this, you may not see your credit score and report on ClearScore.
Getting credit
To resolve this, you may wish to open an account. For example, when you start using a credit card, even for small purchases that you pay back in full each month, you’ll start to build up your credit history. This should improve the likelihood of seeing your credit score on ClearScore.
Credit Health
If the credit bureau has been unable to find a credit report for you, that’s okay. You can still use ClearScore by:
- Activating your report on How you look to lenders.
- Self-declaring your personal details.
- Verifying your email address and activating your Protect.
